Walt Disney World Turns 50!
Walt Disney World will celebrate their 50th anniversary this year, and it is shaping up to be the most magical celebration on Earth!
The 50th anniversary will kick off on October 1, 2021 and last for 18 months! The celebration will include the expansion of entertainment, attractions, and dining options.
In honor of Walt Disney World’s 50th anniversary, Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Animal Kingdom, and Hollywood Studios have all received a bit of magic!
Icons from all four of these Theme Parks will be magically transformed into “Beacons of Magic” each night in honor of this momentous occasion.
Disney has shared a sneak peek at the magical transformation Spaceship Earth will make as it illuminates into a Beacon of Magic, and it is absolutely stunning. You can read more about that HERE.
Cinderella Castle
Cinderella Castle will also transform into a Beacon of Magic during the evening hours, but that is not stopping Disney from giving it a touch up during the daylight as well.
We first learned Cinderella Castle would receive a royal makeover in February 2020. At that time, the news received mixed reactions from Disney fans. Many thought the Castle was fine the way it was, and the new Castle was much too “pink.”
When Disney World “opened up the gates” in July 2020, Guests were treated to a beautiful sight! The Castle makeover was completed, and it was stunning.
Since then, Cinderella Castle has gotten beautiful embellishments added to really give it some flair! Gold ribbons adorn the tourets, there are jewels sparkling throughout, and a 50th anniversary crest has been added to the center.
