This is the week that many Walt Disney World Guests have been counting down towards. As this week starts the celebrations for “The Most Magical Celebration on Earth”, check out which attraction is having a rough start. How would this affect your touring plan especially with Early Entry for Resort Guests?
Early Park Entry
Earlier this year, Disney announced that Extra Magic Hours would not be returning, and in its place Early Theme Park Entry would grant Guests early access to the theme parks. As we are getting closer to October 1st, we are now receiving more details.
Previously this new Early Theme Park Entry was set to begin on October 1, 2021. Disney Guests received a bit of pixie dust. Early Theme Park Entry is now available for select attractions at EVERY theme park, EVERY day for select Disney Resort Guests. Check out all of the available attractions and Disney Resorts that qualify for this Early Theme Park Entry HERE.
Hollywood Studios
Disney’s Hollywood Studios is one of the best Theme Parks to take advantage of this Early Theme Park Entry. News surfaced that the most desirable attraction, Rise of the Resistance would soon no longer offer the Virtual Queue. Read how our very own Kenny the Pirate experienced this attraction for the first time in the standby line.
Guests may be divided on which attraction that they choose first to enjoy during this Early Theme Park entry. This gives select Disney Resort Guests an opportunity to be first in line for attractions that garner high wait times later in the day.
Today our very own Kenny the Pirate started his day in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. He started his day in Toy Story Land, but this was less magical than expected.
Ride Evacuation
With Early Theme Park Entry, select Resort Guests are granted an additional 30 minutes in the Park. What happens if the attraction that you choose first experiences a ride malfunction?
As Kenny the Pirate enjoyed an exciting ride on Slinky Dog Dash, Guests experienced a less than magical finale. At the end of the ride, Guests enjoy a lovely serenade by our favorite penguin pal, Wheezy as he sings “You’ve Got a Friend in Me.”
Unfortunately, this attraction hit a snag when they spied Wheezy. The cord from his microphone was missing. It also appears that Wheezy forgot to check his batteries this morning as the entire attraction powered down. All Guests had to walk off of this attraction. Due to this attraction delay, this consumed the extra 30 minutes that the Extra Theme Park Entry provided.
All Guests that were evacuated from Slinky Dog Dash received a Multiple Experiences pass valid for today’s date. Unfortunately, this pass does not include Rise of the Resistance.
Now that Virtual Queues have been removed from Rise of the Resistance, it seems that this attraction should be allowed to be added to this Multiple Experience pass.
We all understand that ride delays and evacuations happen, but this does create a bit of a hiccup with touring plans.
Slinky Dog Dash had to be evacuated on September 27, 2021. Guests were given a Multiple Experience Pass for select attractions excluding Rise of the Resistance.
At the time of this writing, Slinky Dog Dash is still temporarily unavailable. We are hoping that Slinky will be welcoming Guests again very soon.
Where would you choose to use your Multiple Attraction Pass at Disney’s Hollywood Studios? How would this affect your touring plans for the day? Do you think Rise of the Resistance should be added to this Multiple Experience pass? Share your thoughts with us on our Facebook Page.
