Adventure Island in Tampa has announced two new rides and a plan to extend operations. Read on for details.
Adventure Island Tampa
Busch Gardens owned Adventure Island has announced new water slides for their park! They also have a plan to expand their operations into the cooler months.
Adventure Island in Tampa is located across the street from Busch Gardens Tampa. Like other Busch Gardens branded parks, both are owned by Sea World.
The water park currently offers a variety of water slides of varying degrees of intensity, such as Vanish Point, a thrilling drop slide.
They also offer something called virtual reality snorkeling, which looks really interesting!
Like other large water parks around the country you can also find a lazy river, a water coaster and plenty more slides to keep you cool in the hot weather!
New Enhancements
Generally the park is only open during the warmer summer months because until now the pools were not heated. Now, Adventure Island has announced they are adding heaters so that the park can be enjoyed for more of the year!
But that’s not all! Two new slides open in March 2022! Let’s take a look at those new slides:
First up, there’s the Rapids Racer. This two person raft slide lets guests compete with neighboring sliders to see who gets to the bottom first! Low walls allow you to see who is in the lead as you race down 600 feet of slide.
Then we have Wahoo Remix, a family raft slide featuring synchronized light and sound features as riders zoom through glowing tunnels. Formerly Wahoo Run, this is a reimagined ride rather than a brand new offering.
This contributor loves Busch Gardens Williamsburg and their water park, Water Country USA. We haven’t had the pleasure of visiting Adventure Island, but these new offerings are enticing! Check out my guide to our favorite water park, Universal’s Volcano Bay.
