Would you be excited about parking? Well some guests are excited about the return of this benefit we have been missing!
Trams Haven’t Returned
Soon, guests at Disneyland resort can experience something their east coast counterparts have been missing: parking lot trams! Despite increases in crowd levels, neither Walt Disney World or Disneyland has yet seen the reintroduction of parking lot trams.
Especially over at Disneyland, guests have been complaining of the long walks to and from their vehicles. Between the farthest lot and the front gate, guests at Disneyland could be walking close to a mile.
Disneyland Announcement
Along with the other Disneyland news today regarding sold out Magic Keys and ticket price increases, the parking fee will also increase.
However, Disneyland also announced that they will begin maintenance on the parking lot trams and rehire staff for the trams over the next few months.
Tram service for the Mickey and Friends parking garage and the Pixar Pals parking garage to the front gates of the parks will return early in 2022.
Disney World Trams Still Closed
We have not yet seen a return date for the Disney World parking trams. Some guests feel the trams need to return, particularly for the Transportation and Ticket Center‘s Magic Kingdom parking.
Personally I miss the silly parking tram operators at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. They set the tone of the day for guests and the tone was “this is going to be fun!” It reminds me of how that OTHER park doesn’t take itself too seriously, which is a quality I find refreshing when we visit Universal Orlando Resort.
Have you parked at one of the Disney Parks recently? Was it a long walk? Let us know in the comments below

Of course it is a long walk...especially for Magic Kingdom...but Epcot too really. And in blistering sun, 95degrees and same for humidity. Wiped out before you reach the gate. Not magical.

Yes, these trams are VERY much needed! We were at Disneyland last week with our handicapped daughter. Her 68 year old father was pushing her wheelchair for the most of the way and it was very difficult for him to do so.
It was a surprise to us that we had to walk so far, and will never do it again.

The trams will return when Cheapek finds a way to monetize them....(I'm thinking $15/pp for off-times, up to $35/pp for peak holiday times).
If you don't think this will happen, just review why Mickey's Magical Express was canned.
