Today at Destination D23, the return of the Festioval of Fantasy parade was announced! Read on for what we know.
Destination D23
One entertainment offering Disney fans are used to seeing has been unavailable since the reopening: parades! Today, Disney Chairman of Parks and Resorts, Josh D’amaro announced that several parades and shows are returning to the parks on both coasts!
We also got a look at some of the features of the new Star Wars Star Cruiser light saber experience.
Be sure to check out all of our articles today and tomorrow to see what’s new and what’s coming back to our beloved Disney parks around the world.
D’amaro also announced an opening timeframe for the new Guardians of the Galaxy Coaster, a NEW quick service restaurant at Epcot and more! And I am way too excited about the Magic Band+ which will also debut in 2022 at Disneyland Resort!
Aboard the Disney Wish, setting sail this summer, you won’t want to miss the two new shows announced today!

Parades Return
While many of us at Kenny the Pirate have enjoyed the character cavalcades, which are basically mini parades, they don’t compare to the spectacle and pageantry of a full scale parade.
Earlier this fall, Disney announced that the Main Street Electrical Parade would return to Disneyland to celebrate its 50th anniversary!
Festival of Fantasy
We also heard that the Magic Kingdom’s daytime parade, Festival of Fantasy will return “in the new year” sometime in 2022!
Festival of Fantasy has been a staple of the Magic Kingdom since 2014. The parade celebrates the tales of Fantasyland and includes nods to Tangled, Peter Pan and Sleeping Beauty, among others!
We are excited to see and hear the parade again soon! Are you looking forward to this parade returning? Let us know in the comments
