There have been many changes at Walt Disney World within the last few months. Now Walt Disney World is asking Guests what they think about new the Disney Genie and how character sightings may be improved. Check out these questions and share how you would respond.
Guest Questionnaire
After a recent visit to Disney’s Hollywood Studios on Disney+ Day, I (Donna) received a questionnaire regarding my experience. Although I do not complete every Guest questionnaire, I was curious which questions may be asked.
There have been so many changes at Walt Disney World, I was excited to be able to share my experience and feedback. How would you respond to a few of these questions?
Character Sightings
Recently, we were excited to share that a large group of characters would be returning for meet and greets in November.
It is important to note that Disney has changed the name of this experience to “Character Sightings” due to the modifications that have been made to provide social distancing. Check out what these new character meet and greets look like HERE.
Who doesn’t want see Mickey Mouse? Questions were asked regarding if we would be willing to see Mickey outdoors (without a mask) or indoors (with a mask).
Would you still be willing to stand in line for a “Character Sighting” without being able to hug Mickey?
Another question asked, “If you had waited to personally meet with Mickey Mouse during your most recent visit, would you have expected to be able to hug him?” When we first shared the changes to the new “Character Sightings”, many Guests shared that it wouldn’t be the same to see Mickey without giving him a hug.

Are the Parks crowded?
I did think that it was interesting that an entire line of questions was directed around “Are the Parks crowded?” Follow up questions included if “Congestion/crowding in certain areas of Disney’s Hollywood Studios made it difficult to get from one place to another in a timely manner.”
What would be your response to the current crowd levels at Walt Dinsey World?
The questionnaire asked which specific locations in Disney’s Hollywood Studios seemed particularly congested. This was rather interesting. Could this mean they are questioning the number of Park Pass Reservations for this Park? Could they use this information to have the Disney Genie help spread out Guests more evenly in the Park based on suggested activity?

Disney Genie
Many Disney Guests are not very happy with the Disney Genie, Genie+, and Individual Lightning Lane. Read about the differences for each of these HERE. I was asked if my traveling party rode Rise of the Resistance. There are two options for this attraction, the standby queue or to pay for the Individual Lighting Lane.
The questionnaire asked if I rode it by paying for Individual Lightning Lane, if I used the standby queue, if I did both the Lightning Lane and the standby queue, or if I didn’t ride this attraction but wanted to.
I was also asked if I used Disney Genie, Disney Genie+, or the Individual Lighting Lane. After I responded “None of These”, I was directed to a screen that asked me to select each attraction that I was able to enjoy without the use of the 3 Disney Genie options.
In the comment section it was tempting to include that Disney Genie was not necessary because we used the Character Locator Touring Plans. Many Disney Guests are upset with the added cost of a once free service with the Virtual Queue for Rise of the Resistance and FastPass for other attractions.

This questionnaire offered an opportunity to share my thoughts regarding these new systems. How would you respond? Will you be purchasing Disney Genie+ and/or the Individual Lighting Lane for select attractions during your next visit?
