Beautiful Christmas Decorations

There really is nothing like experiencing the Disney Parks during the holiday season. Be sure to check out the full guide for the holidays at both Disney’s Hollywood Studios and the Magic Kingdom.

What is truly amazing about the holiday decorations is that they are uniquely themed to fully incorporate the heart and life of each Disney Park. The decorations found throughout Disney’s Animal Kingdom are made of natural fibers and materials.

The large tree that welcomes Guests just outside of the entrance to Disney’s Animal Kingdom is a sight to behold. I (Donna) find myself trying to take in all of the gorgeous decorations scattered around this massive tree.

As you enter the Park you will find natural fibers and plants strung along this festive garland. You can feel the celebration of the holiday while still remaining in the natural beauty of the Animal Kingdom.

Even the stores are decorated with festive decorations. I loved the wreath and garland that adorns the Island Mercantile.

Even while traveling throughout the various parts of the Park, you can enjoy holiday decorations that represent each culture represented. This decorative wreath formed from bottle caps in Africa truly amazed me.

You can check out even more great holiday decorations in the Animal Kingdom from Monica’s guide in 2020.

Merry Menagerie Returns

We were so excited to share that this year the Merry Menagerie would be returning to Disney’s Animal Kingdom. In 2020, this interactive experience was missing.

Guests are able to interact with “life sized artisan-sculpted puppets” of animals such as reindeer, foxes, polar bears, penguins and more. This experience is found at Discovery Island. This is a magical experience and so much fun for both the young and the young at heart.

This Merry Menagerie entertains Guests from 9:45am until 12:30pm and 1:30pm until 5:00pm.

Holiday Flotillas

I (Donna) absolutely love the character cavalcades (in Magic Kingdom), motorcades (in Hollywood Studios), and flotillas (in Animal Kingdom.) This is such a fun way to experience your favorite characters throughout the day.

For the holiday season, you can still enjoy your favorite characters, but the flotillas have been decorated for the holidays. Have your camera ready to snap pictures of the following characters:

  • Chip ‘n Dale in their Dinosaur costumes
  • Island Drummers
  • Mickey, Minnie & Pluto
  • Timon & Rafiki
  • Pocahontas & Meeko
  • Donald, Daisy & Launchpad

Of course, everyone wants to see the big man himself, Santa. Santa has traded in his sled for a flotilla this holiday season. He greets Guests as he travels along the waterway throughout Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

Tree of Life Awakenings

The Tree of Life is such a beautiful Park icon. At nighttime the Tree of Life comes to life illuminations projected upon the tree. Tree of Life now features images of wintry tales. This is such a magical way to end an evening at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

These projections may be enjoyed starting at 6:15pm. Guests can also include a wonderful illumination display for the 50th anniversary. Be sure to check out the full description of these projections HERE.
