Thanksgiving Weekend Debut
Many people love watching a new Disney movie in theaters on Thanksgiving night. Encanto took in $40.3 million at 3,980 theaters in North America between Wednesday and Sunday. This gave Encanto the number one movie spot this past weekend! (Source: New York Times)

It begins with a familiar Latin beat as a blue butterfly sits on a blade of grass with flowers all around flies into the sky. Then, the butterfly flies towards an illuminated two story house with the majestic hills of Colombia. Viewers experience foreshadowing as they see a rainbow.
Per Disney: Walt Disney Animation Studios’ “Encanto” tells the tale of an extraordinary family, the Madrigals, who live hidden in the mountains of Colombia, in a magical house, in a vibrant town, in a wondrous, charmed place called an Encanto.

The magic of the Encanto blessed every child in the family with a unique gift from super strength to the power to heal. Except Mirabel (voice of Stephanie Beatriz) it seemed. However, she discovers that the magic surrounding the Encanto is in danger. Then, Mirabel decides that she, the only ordinary Madrigal, might be her family’s last hope.
Lin-Manuel Miranda Returns
Lin-Manuel’s name is a leader s in the film and theatrical industry. Also, his amazing talent is featured in Disney films Moana and Mary Poppins to name a few of his works. Then, he composed a song for a scene in the film Star Wars: The Force Awakens. In 2018, Miranda voiced the character of Fenton in Disney Channel’s 2017 reboot of DuckTales. Debut on Disney+
This morning, Disney announced Encanto will debut on Disney+ streaming service. Tune in on December 21, 2021 to watch from home.
