Are you hoping to see fireworks on New Year’s Eve on your upcoming Disney trip? Check out all of the details here for the latest update.
Some clues
Guests may have been wondering whether or not Disney would have a fireworks show to ring in the New Year. For the last few weeks, we have speculated that it might be the case.
Before the Thanksgiving holiday, Disney temporarily paused the sale of new Annual Passes. You can read more about this right HERE.
Ticket sales were also halted for select dates at the time, but park reservations and ticket availability soon became magically replenished.
Extended Hours
The weeks of Christmas and New Year’s Eve are traditionally one of the busiest times that take place at Walt Disney World. We have seen extended hours for the Magic Kingdom for December 26th through December 29th.
We also know that there will be additional hours of magic in the Magic Kingdom on both Thursday, December 30th and Friday, December 31st (New Years Eve.) On both nights the Magic Kingdom will close at 1:00am. Be sure to check Character Locator for updates on all park hours before heading to the parks!
Fireworks will ring in the New Year
A lot of this was pure speculation and since plans for a special New Year’s Eve event at the California Grill were announced, it was a pretty safe bet to say fireworks would take place.
However, nothing was confirmed until now!
Fireworks will take place on New Year’s Eve at both Magic Kingdom and EPCOT!
Disney has now confirmed that New Year’s Eve fireworks will take place! Looking at Disney’s calendar, we can see that the Fantasy in the Sky Fireworks will take place at the Magic Kingdom at 11:50 p.m.
If you are visiting EPCOT, you can expect to see New Year’s countdown fireworks will take place at 11:54 p.m.
We are so excited to ring in the 2022 with Walt Disney World!
