Have Disney new Genie sales resumed today?

Due to technical glitches, Disney stopped Genie sales yesterday at one of it’s resort destinations. Check out this mornings status on Genie sales here.

Disney Genie is a new tool Disney says will help guests maximize their time in theme parks. In addition, this free service helps you plan your day. Genie shows wait times, itineraries, reservations, and virtual queues.

This is essentially like Character Locator’s customized touring plans. Kenny’s pre-made plans can be modified to remove attractions, add new ones, and input your dining plans. However, Kenny’s plans are tested and proven. Genie+ is an unknown product. Also, it relies on inconsistent Disney technology.

Kenny’s touring plans are the best! Look for them in Character Locator.

Recently, Disney unveiled a new theme park experience: Disney Genie+. This replaces the free FastPass+ at Disney World and MaxPass at Disneyland. Genie+ is a paid feature that offers boasts more convenience and flexibility. Now, for $15 per person per day at Disney World and $20 per person per day at Disneyland, guests choose the next available time to arrive at a variety of attractions and experiences. Look for the Lightning Lane entrance to use this feature. To find out if Genie+ is worth it, check out a fellow writer’s (Donna) article HERE.

In addition go Genie+, Disney offers Individual Lightning Lane Selections for an additional fee per ride. Guests select up to two headliners per day to ride. Pricing varies based on date, park, and attraction. For example, Rise of the Resistance and Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure are included. Recent Disney Technical Issues

Disney relies on technology to book reservations, plan meals, book lightning lane experiences, order food, and enter theme parks. But, what if Disney technology doesn’t work? Just a few days ago, Disney World faced a major technology outage. As shown in the picture above, Disney apologized for the issues. Also, Disney stated that Disney digital experiences may not be available. Find out more details on this outage, including what caused it HERE.

Yesterday, Disneyland debuted its Genie system on the Disneyland app. And, it didn’t go well at all! Guests trying to make selections received an error message that the system was down. Not only that, but guests received a not so welcome surprise on the cost of Rise of Resistance Lightning Lane selection. And it didn’t get better! Later in the day, Disneyland stopped all sales for this service. To read the entire story, read a fellow writer’s article HERE.

Today, Disneyland guests are able to make selections. Will this continue throughout today? Hopefully, glitches will not shut down the Disneyland app again. Stay tuned here for any updates.

This morning, Disneyland guests can make Genie selections.
