Difficulties surrounding a power outage are wreaking major havoc at Disney today.
Technical Difficulties
The past few days have brought major technical difficulties to the Disney parks. As we reported yesterday, Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom experienced a fire that led to sightings of fire trucks down Main Street.
While the details of the fire are not completely clear, it appears as though the castle was affected and that areas were evacuated.
We reported yesterday that Disney released a statement about this fire at the castle. Thankfully, no one was injured.
Disneyland Power Outage
As reported by many guests on Twitter, Disneyland is currently experiencing a power outage that is causing serious trouble for guests. This power outage is causing rides to break down with guests stuck on them!
One Twitter user who is currently at Disneyland reported that he is currently stuck on Rise of the Resistance. The tweet reads, “Stuck on Rise of the Resistance @Disneyland. Guess there is a power outage at the park.”
I (Jaelyn) truly cannot imagine being stuck on a ride for any amount of time due to a power outage! This would not be something expected or enjoyable during the busy holiday season. I would especially not like to be stuck on a ride where I spent a lot of time waiting in line like Rise of the Resistance!
Current Ride Closures
Other guests are reporting several rides are down and inoperable right now due to the outage.
According to the Disneyland parks app, several rides are currently down. With large crowds and significant wait times, any outage is likely to cause major congestion in the parks.
Have you ever experienced technical difficulties in the Disney parks? Have you ever been stuck on a ride? What was your experience? Let us know in the comments below or by commenting on our Facebook page. We look forward to hearing from you!

I agree and I see no reason for these!!! They're just being incredibly cheap. Disney Hello....there's these wonderful inventions called generators!!! If they can run hospitals, they can run a theme park ride!!!! Wake up!!

My friend and I got stuck, and evacuated on Thunder Mountain at Disneyland in 2013. We stopped in the tunnel (the one with the coyotes howling above it) and it took about 15-20 minutes before cast members came and guided us thru the evacuation process and it was very cool to get to walk thru part of the ride and we got fast passes for Space Mountain
