Disney’s Onsite Guests get Extra Perks this Holiday Season

Crucial perks for onsite resort guests have doubled for the holiday season!

Early Theme Park Entry

Early Theme Park entry was released as a park of the 50th Anniversary celebrations! Debuting on October 1, 2021 with a soft opening starting on September 26, 2021, guests of onsite resorts and select partnering hotels are given the ability to enter any of the four theme parks at Walt Disney World resort 30 minutes prior to offsite guests.

This is a huge perk for guests who are staying onsite and want to use a rope dropping strategy to get in major park headliners and avoid the lines! While not all rides and attractions participate in the Early Theme Park Entry, many headliners are available.

I (Jaelyn) was able to test out Early Theme Park Entry on the first day of the soft opening at the Magic Kingdom on September 26th. My travel party was able to complete Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Peter Pan, and it’s a small world prior to official park open, which really helped with our touring plan for the rest of the day!

Changes to the Program

For a limited time from December 19th, 2021-January 3rd, 2022, onsite guests will be able to enter any theme park of their choosing on any day 60 minutes prior to park open.

This is double the amount of time that on-site guests are currently offered in rope drop advantage! This is a huge perk that will have major benefits for onsite guests looking to knock out many rides prior to the park even opening! This seems to be running only through the holiday season, but we will update if things change further.

Have you experienced Early Theme Park Entry? What are your opinions of the perk in comparison to the old Extra Magic Hours program? Be sure to comment below or on our Facebook page. We look forward to hearing from you!
