Parades return

Cavalcades replaced traditional parades when the parks reopened in July 2020. While many people including myself (Maggie) love seeing the cavalcades, many people feel that the cavalcades just are not the same as the traditional parades.

For this year’s holiday season, Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade can be seen. This is the first parade that has returned since the parks closed.

This parade can be seen during the Very Merriest After Hours event. However, now the parade can temporarily be seen during the day!

Daytime performances

Guests can now see Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade during regular park hours! Beginning December 22, (that’s today) get a spot early so you can catch one of the performances at either 12:00 pm or 3:45 pm. On December 30 and 31, the second parade will take place at 3:30 pm.

The daytime performances will end on December 31 which is great for such a busy time at Disney World. The week between Christmas and New Year is historically the busiest time of the year, so this will help entertain Guests.

Seeing the parade during the day is great for guests who did not attend the Very Merriest After Hours event.

A screenshot appears in My Disney Experience. It says, “please see a parade-viewing Cast Member at the courtyard in front of Cinderella Castle during your arrival window. The Lightning Lane entrance will be on the east side of the castle area.”

Will you be adding this to your park plans for the day? Will you take advantage of the new Lightning Lane experience for the parade? What do you think of the new Disney Genie+ service? Tell us about it in the comments below or on our Facebook page.
