Refurbishments are a part of life at Walt Disney World. It’s not uncommon for at least one attraction to be closed at any given time. They take place for various reasons including mechanical issues or cosmetic updates. Based on the nature of the work, the refurbishment may last only a few days or continue for several months. For a master list of Disney’s scheduled refurbishments, read HERE.

Refurbishment is a dreaded word for Disney fans who will be visiting soon.  We understand that refurbishments are a necessary part of keeping each theme park magical. However, it is disappointing when one of your favorite rides, attractions, or even photo opportunities are closed during your visit.

If so, you may be disappointed at the next refurbishment, The Little Mermaid – Ariel’s Undersea Adventure. Disney just announced this refurbishment at Disney’s California Adventure begins on January 10 and reopens on January 14. Although this is a short time, it is sad for guests visiting those days that are really looking forward to it.
