Disney Guests are Currently Trapped Inside Ferris Wheel Attraction

Disney Guests are Currently Trapped Inside Ferris Wheel Attraction

I’m not sure what’s worse: being stuck on a ferris wheel or being stuck on the skyliner. Unfortunately, Disney Guests are currently stuck inside the attraction.

Ride Malfunctions

Sometimes unexpected closures occur at Disney theme parks. Either a ride is malfunctioning or some quick work needs to take place that doesn’t require a full blown refurbishment. Something may need fixed that doesn’t affect the ride function.

Unfortunately, those unexpected closures can became a multi-day closure. We have seen this with Rock ‘n’ Rollercoaster as an increase in positive cases is reported to be the reason for the closure.

Around the same time, we also reported that two rides over at Epcot suddenly evacuated and closed to Guests. You can read full details about that experience HERE.

Even Genie+ can malfunction!

Unfortunately, Disney World is not the only Disney destination affected by ride malfunctions. Over on the West Coast, Guests at Disneyland are currently facing a scary situation.

The Pixar Pal-A-Round Swinging is a ferris wheel gondola style ride at California Adventure. Shortly after 7:00 pm Eastern Time (so 4:00 pm Pacific Time) Kenny the Pirate shared that the attraction stopped and Guests were trapped inside.

Fortunately for everyone involved, the ride did not appear to stay stopped for too long. Although 30 minutes is still a very long time to be stuck inside a gondola-style ferris wheel. It reminds me of the many times we have covered skyliner downtime.

Good News

At the time of publication, the attraction is currently in the process of being evacuated. This means the attraction is slowly moving and Cast Members are getting Guests off.

However, that will be quite the process and it will be a little while longer before everyone is off the ride. Cast Members are giving affected Guests a Multi Experience Lightning Lane. These can be used at almost any attraction at Disneyland.

Disney Parks have become third rate attractions and are no longer a magical experience. It appears they are going to be up for sale soon.

We were stuck for hours on what will ever be called the Little world ride because I can't bring myself to come that close to the Lyrics. The family has to ride that one without me. The scariest was also the best. We were stuck for 20 minutes at the bottom of the hill of Frozen Ever After. The fireworks were nice to watch AFTER the fear of the boat after us coming down the waterfall passed. It crested the hill...but the cast members were able to pull it back until the ride could restart.
