Health and Safety Guidelines have changed quite a bit since the reopening of the Disney Parks. Initially masks were required at all locations. This later changed for only indoor locations, and then simply on Disney transportation.
Currently, masks are required in a few key areas at Disney World. First, you are required to wear them at any indoor location. This includes shops and restaurants.
Second, you must also put one on before entering the official queue of an attraction and while on that attraction if any part of that queue or attraction is indoors. In Central Florida there is a shortage of COVID-19 testing locations. Now, Walt Disney World is partnering to help meet this need.
COVID-19 Testing Location
Disney’s Blizzard Beach water park closed for annual refurbishment on December 25, 2021. Magically, Typhoon Lagoon opened a few days later for the enjoyment of Guests.
Blizzard Beach will now be welcoming a new group of visitors as it will serve as a COVID-19 testing location. This location will be available for Cast Members on January 12th and will be stocked with 40,000 self-administered test kits.
At this time these tests will be available for any Cast Member who may have been exposed to COVID-19 or that are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms. Appointments are necessary for all Cast Members to utilize this testing location.
Blizzard Beach will be serve as a COVID-19 testing location for Cast Members starting on January 12th. This location will be stocked with with 40,000 self-administered test kits.
At this time this testing location is exclusively for Walt Disney World Cast Members.
