Will you need a COVID test while at Disney World? You will want to check out the details of the newest testing location that is available at Walt Disney World.
Health and Safety Practices
Health and Safety Guidelines have changed quite a bit since the reopening of the Disney Parks. Initially masks were required at all locations. This later changed for only indoor locations, and then simply on Disney transportation.
Currently, masks are required in a few key areas at Disney World. First, you are required to wear them at any indoor location. This includes shops and restaurants.
Second, you must also put one on before entering the official queue of an attraction and while on that attraction if any part of that queue or attraction is indoors. In Central Florida there is a shortage of COVID-19 testing locations. Now, Walt Disney World is partnering to help meet this need.
Cast Member Testing Location
Last week we shared that Walt Disney World operate a testing site for only Cast Members. This new location would be at the recently closed Blizzard Beach. Blizzard Beach is currently closed for refurbishment which made this area available for Cast Member testing.
This location is now available for Cast Members and is stocked with 40,000 self-administered test kits. You can check out the details and appointment guidelines for this location HERE.
This led many Disney Guests to wonder if a COVID testing location may be available for Guests as well.
COVID Testing for Guests
Previously Walt Disney World offered an on-site COVID testing location. This testing location was operated by the Florida Division of Emergency Management. This site closed causing many Disney Guests to find another off-site testing location while on vacation.
The previous testing location is now available once again. Now Guests can receive a COVID test while still remaining in the “Disney bubble”. This testing location will not be operated by Walt Disney World but rather by the Osceola County and Northshore Clinical Labs.
This on-site testing location will be at the Maingate Complex at 30320 Maingate Lane in Kissimmee, FL. For this testing location, they will offer the Rapid Antigen and the 48-hour PCR test starting immediately.
There are no restrictions as to who may test at this location, but appointments are required. You can make an appointment HERE. This testing location will be open to the general public from 8:00am until 5:00pm daily.
COVID Testing is now available at Maingate Complex at 30320 Maingate Lane in Kissimmee for both the Rapid Antigen and the 48-hour PCR test.
This is great news and particularly great news for Guests who may be unsure where COVID testing sites are located.
What do you think of this off-site testing location? Would this give you peace of mind for an upcoming trip to Walt Disney World? Did you visit the on-site testing location previously? Share your thoughts with us on our Facebook Page.
