The coaster, called Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, takes place during Peter Quill’s visit to Epcot in the 1980s. So, get ready for plenty of throwback Epcot nostalgia. It’s up to riders to help the Guardians save the galaxy!

The ride starts in the “Galaxarium“, a planetarium-like structure. It showcases the similarities between Earth’s galaxy (the Milky Way) and the Guardians galaxy (Xandar).

Last month, the Walt Disney Company shared that this attraction will welcome Guests the summer of 2022. It appears that this attraction is on track for this timeline. Check out the new exterior to this attraction building HERE.

Disney has also released a teaser trailer featuring Glenn Close. You will not want to miss this amazing sneak peek into this attraction. We are so excited for this attraction to be added to the transformation of EPCOT in 2022. Recently, we shared new information about the casting and animatronics HERE.

Disney Imagineers are busy installing the Nova Corps Starblaster ship is the Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind entrance. In the coming weeks, Disney will be assembling the 51-foot-tall ship and adding finishing details.

Once complete, this ship will be the icon of the Wonders of outworldly Xandar pavilion. The bold blue and gold colors are amazing. Check out @thezachriddley’s Instagram post above. This is so exciting! I (Susan) cannot wait for this attraction to open. Hopefully, it will be closer to the beginning of summer than the end.
