We have disappointing news for Guests wanting to take Disney World transportation. One mode of transportation is unexpectedly closed right now.
Skyliner
Have you seen those gondolas in the sky with the fun colors and characters? If you are curious what those are, they are none other than Disney’s Skyliner! These gondolas transport Guests from Hollywood Studios and Epcot with a few stops in between.
The Skyliner has stations at Art of Animation Resort, Pop Century Resort, Riviera Resort, and the main hub at Caribbean Beach. You can access Hollywood Studios and Epcot from the Skyliner.
It is a very quick and efficient mode of transportation when there aren’t any issues. Unfortunately, there have many accidents and closures in the almost 2.5 years it has been open.
Recent Refurbishment
In case you missed it, Disney’s Skyliner temporarily closed last month. From January 23 to January 28, it was closed and Guests needed to find alternate transportation. This included boats and buses.
During those dates (January 23 – January 28), the line between Epcot International Gateway, Disney’s Riviera Resort, and Disney’s Caribbean Resort was closed. Fortunately, Guests still had access to Hollywood Studios.
Fortunately, that refurbishment ended sooner than expected! However, it appears that maybe there are still some lingering issues?
Closed
The Epcot line is currently down today, February 3. We are unsure what the reasoning is, but since it’s the same line that was closed last month for refurbishment, there may be some issues that need resolved.
As a reminder, the Epcot line runs from the International Gateway, through Riviera Resort, and on to Caribbean Beach. At Caribbean Beach, you must get off to head to Art of Animation/Pop Century or Hollywood Studios.
The Epcot line is currently down today, February 3.
We will continue to monitor the situation and see if it reopens today or not. Hopefully it does for the sake of those wishing to travel aboard!
