Transportation systems can break down just like attractions. Here is what is currently down and your alternate options.
Disney Transportation
Buses, boats, monorails, and skyliners. Disney offers multiple ways to get to the resorts, theme parks, and Disney Springs. Because Disney World is so big, Guests cannot simply walk to get where they need to be. Figuring out transportation and what goes where is just as important as planning your dining reservations and touring strategy.
We have a few guides to help you plan the best route for getting around property: boat transportation guide and monorail guide. Clicking those links will help you learn everything you need to know!
Unfortunately, it is not always smooth sailing on Disney World transportation. Refurbishments, accidents, and mechanical issues do arise on occasion.
Monorail Down
Such is the case today, February 28. The EPCOT monorail line is currently down, and Cast Members are directing Guests to bus transportation.
The EPCOT line runs to and from Epcot and the Transportation and Ticket Center. It does not appear the Express line or Magic Kingdom line are affected.
The EPCOT monorail line is currently down.
Your Options
If you are trying to leave Epcot at the front entrance, you will need to take a bus. There will be buses to the monorail resorts as well as Magic Kingdom and the Transportation and Ticket Center. The Skyliner is located at the International Gateway, and that is not affected by this closure.
If you are at a Magic Kingdom resort trying to get to Epcot via the monorail you will need to go to the bus station instead.
Hopefully the EPCOT line is back up and running before 2:00 pm for Guests who want to park hop between Magic Kingdom and Epcot.
