One Disney Resort offered a full Mardi Gras Parade complete with a 50th Anniversary overlay. Check out all of the fun characters included in this great parade.
Mardi Gras Celebration
Last month, Port Orleans – Riverside celebrated their 30th anniversary. Combined Port Orleans is the largest resort on Disney property and is such a fun resort. French Quarter is like stepping into historic New Orleans at the turn of the 20th century. Jesters, masks, and jazz influences draw you in to experience a southern way of life.
Port Orleans Riverside offers the feel of rural Louisiana. Combined together you will feel as though you are truly in the middle of Louisiana with all the southern touches. Check out a full guide to this amazing resort HERE.
This is the perfect setting to celebrate Mardi Gras. In February, we announced that Guests could celebrate Mardis Gras at Port Orleans starting February 2nd through March 1st. This included live entertainment, enjoyed fresh beignets, taking a ride on a surrey bike and more. Check out this full list of activities for Mardi Gras HERE.
Mardi Gras Parade
When Disney first announced the Mardi Gras celebrations coming Port Orleans, they did not share if the Cast Member golf cart parade would return.
The Mardi Gras Parade was last enjoyed by Guests in 2020. Unfortunately, Guests were unable to enjoy this festive parade in 2021. Guests both young and the young at heart were excited that this parade returned today.
Leading the parade were the Walt Disney World Ambassadors, Raevon Redding and Ali Manion, with a colorful Mardi Gras Parade 2022 banner. A musical band of Cast Members followed behind to join in the celebration.
This all led to the entrance of our favorite Louisiana princess, Princess Tiana. She arrived in a horse drawn carriage. After this royal entrance, came the parade golf carts decorated for the 50th Anniversary.
Cast Members decorated golf carts with golden accents in honor of the 50th Anniversary of Walt Disney World. Other golf carts were decorated in honor of many of the opening day attractions such as: Mad Hatter Tea Party, it’s a small world, The Enchanted Tiki Room, Haunted Mansion, Country Bear Jamboree, Dumbo and Casey Jr., and Jungle Cruise.

This was such a wonderful return of this festive parade. We loved the 50th Anniversary touches added to this year’s Mardi Gras Parade.
