As parades and other entertainment returns, cavalcades may be phasing out. Are these two cavalcades gone forever?
Cavalcades
Disney World cavalcades have undergone many changes in the short time it’s been part of the reopening. At first, they were one of the only ways to see characters with parades and traditional meets gone.
However, Disney slowly started re-adding character sightings throughout the parks. With the return of Festival of Fantasy, we are seeing even more characters. With masking requirements gone indoors, Disney promises the return of regular character meets “soon.”
With many opportunities to meet characters again, where does that leave cavalcades? Are they phasing out? Epcot does not even have them anymore. Hollywood Studios has one, the Pixar Pals motorcade. Magic Kingdom just debuted one called “Adventure Friends Cavalcade” but it appears two may be leaving.
Magic Kingdom Cavalcades
The Tinker Bell and Princess cavalcades have been a staple in Magic Kingdom since July 2020. I (Monica) remember during the Annual Passholder preview, Tink was the first character I saw in 5 months. While I certainly missed the traditional meets, it was nice watching these mini parades float by without needing to wait in a long line.
Unfortunately, Disney no longer lists these two cavalcades on MDE or the Disney World website. In fact, only two remain: the 50th Anniversary Celebration and Adventure Friends cavalcades. Our KtP team saw both in the park this week, so it appears this is a recent change.
It does not seem likely to me that this cavalcade still appears in the park, but it could be some kind of error on Disney’s part. With Festival of Fantasy back and traditional meets on the horizon, Disney may be limiting the cavalcades.
