Today, several attractions have been temporarily unavailable. Now a fan-favorite show will be closed for the remainder of the day. Find out which show is affected.
Several Attractions Unavailable
Earlier today we shared that multiple attractions were temporarily unavailable. This largely affected Magic Kingdom, but extended to all Walt Disney World Parks. Interestingly, these temporary closures affected both indoor and outdoor attractions. So even the crazy weather in Florida were not to blame for all of these temporary closures.
These closures caused high wait times for other attractions. Many Guests chose to enjoy great entertainment options while many rides were unavailable. Unfortunately, one fan-favorite show is now unavailable for the rest of the day.
Celebration of the Celebration of the Lion King
The Festival of the Lion King is a modified experience with a name change to the Celebration of the Festival of the Lion King. Check out the review of these changes HERE. Previously, Celebration of the Festival of the Lion King offers additional showtimes on select dates such as on weekends and holidays.
In preparation for additional Guests visiting for Spring Break, Walt Disney World added an additional showtime for Celebration of the Festival of the Lion King. Guests can enjoy 8 showtimes on these more popular dates and typically 7 showtimes during the week.
Today, Guests experienced unexpected cancellations for this celebration.
Cancelled Performances
The performance schedule for today, March 11th, was posted as follows: 10:00am, 11:00am, 12:00pm, 1:00pm, 2:00pm, 3:00pm, 4:00pm, and 5:00pm. Showtimes are now adjusted on the Walt Disney World website, My Disney Experience app, and also on the marquee sign in Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
Four showtimes were removed including: 2:00pm, 3:00pm, 4:00pm, and 5:00pm. This is disappointing for Guests visiting Disney’s Animal Kingdom today.
Four showtimes were cancelled for the Celebration of the Festival of the Lion King including: 2:00pm, 3:00pm, 4:00pm, and 5:00pm.
Tomorrow and heading into next week, showtimes are scheduled to return to normal. We hope that any technical difficulties that affected this show today will be resolved by tomorrow.
