Longest Running Attraction at Disney’s Animal Kingdom To Reduce Showtimes

A guest favorite attraction at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park will soon be reducing its showtimes. Read on to find out which attraction is affected and for how long.

A Celebration of Festival of the Lion King is a thirty minute show located in the Africa area at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park. The show consists of songs, dance, puppetry and visual effects in recreating different scenes from the popular animated film, “The Lion King.” Simba, along with his friends and four human singers lead the continuous celebration.

It is currently the longest-running attraction at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park.

After many Covid protocols were in place after the show re-opened, many guests were disappointed to learn that many favorite elements were missing from the performance. However, just days ago, big news was released regarding major updates to A Celebration of Festival of the Lion King. You can read more about it HERE.

Showtimes Reduced

Currently, “A Celebration of Festival of the Lion King” show is being performed eight times a day, beginning at 10 am, and playing at the top of each hour.

Beginning Monday, April 25, 2022, the 1 pm show will be removed Monday through Friday and Sunday, with the exception of Saturday.

The one show reduction will come to an end beginning on May 22, 2022, a week before Memorial Weekend, when the performance will go back to its regular schedule of eight performances a day.

Disney did not provide the reasonings for removing the 1 pm showing during the week and on Sundays.
