Great News for the Runners at Race Weekend

Springtime Surprise Race Weekend is here! We have some great news for those participating!

The runDisney Springtime Surprise is just around the corner! This year’s race weekend kicks off on March 31 and runs through April 3, 2022.

There are several races planned for the weekend: a 5k, 10k, and a 10-miler for a total of 19.3 magical miles. Runners are already arriving in the parks getting ready to head to the expo and complete their races.

A Disappointing Announcement

Yesterday (March 29, 2022), runners received disappointing news. Emails went out informing them that the race weekend medals would most likely not make it in time for the race!

Runners were told to update their mailing addresses. This way they could receive the medals in the mail.

A Happy Ending

However, today there was good news after all. Runners received a new email!

The email states, “We are extremely pleased to share that our runDisney Springtime Surprise Weekend finisher medals have arrived at the Walt Disney World Resort!  Our teams are busy unloading these magical medals and preparing for the weekend.” Hooray!

The happy message goes on to say, “We are so happy that our event medals will be ready to give you at the race site….you have earned it!  But we are even happier that we will all be together this weekend – as one magic-inspired community.”

We racers are happy too! My (Katie’s) running buddy did make us stand-in temporary medals just in case! I think I will still wear it because it was so sweet of her. But I am happy that we will be receiving the real deal, too.

Are you participating in the races? Is this happy news for you? Share your thoughts with us on the Kenny the Pirate Facebook page. Don’t forget to join the KtP crew page, too!
