Disney World is evacuating Guests from an entire pavilion at Epcot right now. Are you there today?
Disney World Closures
It’s not uncommon for various attractions to close during any given day at Disney World. Several attractions were closed earlier recently at Magic Kingdom, and one even closed due to lightning striking the attraction!
This can certainly cause wait times to increase if an attraction is operating at half capacity or at other attractions if a ride is entirely closed. Not to mention, it can be disappointing for Guests who have spent months planning their vacations only to get there and not be able to ride what they were hoping to.
Unfortunately, an entire pavilion is closed right now at Epcot.
Mexico Pavilion
Many of you consider Mexico the start of the World Showcase, and for good reason! From incredible restaurants and snacks to the unique shopping inside the pyramid, Mexico is a really unique pavilion to explore. Donald Duck even recently began meeting Guests again in his festive wear!
I love eating at San Angel Inn overlooking the “active” volcano and then taking a ride on the Gran Fiesta Tour. The theming of the pyramid makes you feel like you have stepped into the open-air market of a small Mexican town at dusk. It’s incredible!
Evacuating
Unfortunately, Disney is currently evacuating Guests from the pyramid. Cast Members are directing people out of the building, but if you have ever been inside that building you know how congested it can be.
You can see in the screenshot above that the Gran Fiesta Tour is also temporarily closed since it is located inside that building. We are unsure what is causing the evacuation.
You can head outside to meet Donald or grab one of the amazing tacos from the Flower and Garden outdoor kitchen. Jaelyn has a review of that for you right HERE.
Hopefully the pavilion reopens soon! Let us know if you are at Epcot today and share your experience with us in the comments below and on Facebook.
