Disney World is updating its mask policy once again. This time, it signals a big milestone for those wanting to be completely mask free. Get the details here.
Mask Requirements
Disney dropped its mask policy for vaccinated Guests recently. This means if you are fully vaccinated you do not have to wear a mask indoors or outdoors. There are a few exceptions, however.
Regardless of vaccination status, you must wear a face covering inside the First Aid centers. These act like mini health clinics, and medical offices and hospitals around the country still require masks.
For the most part, vaccinated Guests are free to roam around Disney property without wearing masks (if they so choose). Even Skyliner gondolas and boats are mask free. Additionally, Galactic Starcruiser is even mask free.
More Transportation goes mask free
Because TSA cannot enforce a federal mask mandate due to a recent court ruling, many airlines are dropping the policy entirely. We figured it would only be a matter of time before Disney shared something, and we were right. Even the Orlando Airport put out a statement.
The new change affects Disney World monorail and bus transportation.
Now, Guests will no longer need to wear masks on the monorail and buses. Previously, they were both required. This change goes into effect immediately.
So, what does this mean? Because monorails and buses were the last required locations, Guests can essentially start and end their Disney vacation 100% mask free if they so choose.
Guests are not required to masks anywhere on Disney property along with most airlines and airports.
Face Coverings Statement
The statement reads:
“Face coverings are optional for Guests in both outdoor and indoor locations, as well as Disney transportation. It is recommended Guests who are not fully vaccinated continue wearing face coverings in all indoor locations, including indoor attractions and theaters and on enclosed transportation.
Please note, face coverings are not permitted while experiencing water slides or in the water.”
Did you notice it no longer says unvaccinated Guests are still required to wear them?
