There’s a new location opening inside one of our favorite Disney resorts. Check out all the details here, including who can visit this spot.
Bay Lake Tower
Bay Lake Tower (or BLT for short) is the Disney Vacation Club (DVC) tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort. The Contemporary was one of the first resorts built at Disney World, but Bay Lake is not the first DVC accommodation!
It is the ninth Disney DVC resort and the seventh located on Disney World property. It opened in 2009, which makes it 12 years old! Check out Monica’s recent review of a Bay Lake Tower studio HERE.
Fabulous Views
Bay Lake Tower offers the most fantastic views of Disney’s Magic Kingdom. If you stay here, or dine at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, be sure to walk to Bay Lake Tower to see the night Magic Kingdom lights as well as fireworks and the Electrical Water Pageant.
This bright and fun floating nighttime parade sets sail across the Seven Seas Lagoon. It lasts 15 minutes and viewers listen to classic Disney tunes. To see a schedule, read my (Susan) post HERE.
We (Susan and friends) were thrilled when Disney announced fireworks parties were returning to Magic Kingdom, California Grill and EPCOT! Although Magic Kingdom offers pre- and post-fireworks parties, we wanted to watch the fireworks outside the park.
Best views of fireworks come from either the breezeway between Disney’s Contemporary and Bay Lake Tower, and by dining at Disney’s California Grill. Check out the view in the picture above from this breezeway.
Lounge Opening
Disney Vacation Clubs have been waiting so long for this announcement! Now, we’ve received news that the Top of the World Lounge is reopening soon! This is a bar located at Disney’s Bay Lake Tower that offers amazing views of Walt Disney World similar to those of California Grill.
Note: Bay Lake Tower is the Disney Vacation Club building on Disney’s Contemporary Resort property.
Unfortunately, this location is open only to DVC members.
Are you excited about the Top of the World Lounge reopening? Are you a DVC member? Please share your thoughts below or on our KtP Facebook Page.
