Are you ready for MagicBand+? We have a closer look at these new bands! See the latest update here.
MagicBand+
Disney announced a brand new interactive MagicBand just before the anniversary celebration. MagicBand+ will allow Guests to interact with the Fab50 character statues that can now be found in ALL 4 of the Theme Parks. This newly designed band will also light up and even vibrate depending on where you are located in the Parks.
It was also announced that guests could play games at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and that they would interact with nighttime spectaculars. However, not much more information was released and we are still waiting for the release.
In a recent survey to guests regarding MagicBands, we found out a hint as to how much these would cost and more of what to expect of these new MagicBands. Additionally, we have spotted speakers in the parks near each statue, leading us to believe Disney is preparing for its launch.
FCC Filing
A recent filing with the FCC gives us a closer look at the MagicBand+. While it’s not exactly exciting information, it does give us a better idea of what it will look like.
At the widest point of the band, it measures 40 mm wide. From top to bottom, is measures approximately 270 mm long. From a different angle, you can see that the reader portion of the band does not lay completely flat.
There are also some less exciting (to me anyway) photos that show the interior of the MagicBand+. If you are interesting in seeing all of the photos, you can view the FCC filing HERE.
We still have no word on when MagicBand+ will launch, but these developments bring us one step closer! Stay tuned to Kenny the Pirate and we will share any updates regarding the new bands.
