I don’t know about you, but I am seriously excited for the release of Disney’s new MagicBand+! The anticipation is growing for many fans over this exciting new release. However, Disney shared some news about the new MagicBand+ you might not be happy to hear.
MagicBand+
Disney’s newest MagicBand, MagicBand+, is the newest piece of interactive technology that will take your trip to Disney World to the next level! This new MagicBand will allow Guests to interact with the Fab50 character statues that can now be found in ALL 4 of the Theme Parks. This band will also light up and even vibrate depending on where you are located in the Parks.
Disney Parks Blog shared some details about what will be possible with the new MagicBand+.
- Play like a bounty hunter in a galaxy far, far away and find virtual bounties throughout Black Spire Outpost in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
- Experience nighttime spectaculars in a new way as you see your band light up and complement the magic in the skies, including the new Harmonious at EPCOT and Disney Enchantment at Magic Kingdom Park.
Thanks to a Guest survey, we recently got a closer look at the newest MagicBand, including learning potential price points! Would you pay up to $50 for this new MagicBand?
After Disney filed with the FCC, we thought for sure we must be getting closer to the launch of this highly anticipated new MagicBand. However, we have some disappointing news to share with you.
When will MagicBand+ be released?
Disney has shared that we will in fact see the release of MagicBand+ in 2022.
However, it looks to be later in 2022 rather than sooner.
Fortune awaits. None can hide. MagicBand+ coming later this year to @WaltDisneyWorld.

Who cares? It buzzes and light up. Yawn. Used to be free with hotel stay, now $50 on top of all the other price increases. Probably charge us $10 a day to activate the lighting up and buzzing too.

Disney needs to fix their other problems first before creating new ones.

I think Disney should spend their time fixing all the technology issues that don’t work that people are paying for and hold off rolling out more new things that probably work work well either! Have Genie+ work as well as Fastpasses did where you can select a time and get that time instead of it changing on you and allowing you to actually pick a time and make changes. DVC issues that have not worked well as allowing people to book and find out later it was an error, etc. Hate living on my phone, not a relaxing vacation. First fix what is wrong instead of adding more things to go wrong.
