Heads up for Disney Guests: this ride is having some major troubles this week.
Attraction Closures
Rides close for a number of reasons. Disney may need to perform extended maintenance so the ride closes for a refurbishment. This is very common, and in fact, sometimes those refurbishments are even extended. Expedition Everest is one such recent example of this!
Other times, a portion of a ride closes. Perhaps work on part of the attraction is needed, but closing the entire ride is not necessary. This is currently happening at Tower of Terror. We are seeing extremely high wait times as Disney closes some of the elevators.
Of course, weather and electric issues can affect attractions. Outdoor attractions will temporarily close if lightning is in the area or rain becomes too heavy.
However, we are completely unsure why a popular Disney World coaster is closed so much this week.
Rock’ n’ Roller Coaster
Hop in that stretch limo and make your way through Los Angeles to get to that Aerosmith concert before it’s too late! This thrill coaster at Hollywood Studios is a favorite for many Guests. The intense launch, corkscrews and inversions, and fun music are a few reasons why it’s such a beloved attraction.
Unfortunately for Guests visiting this week, it hasn’t been open much. Beginning on April 25, it opened as normal but then closed at 11:30 am. It did not open at all on Tuesday, April 26. This was the same day Rise of the Resistance and Tower of Terror also had a not-so-magical morning.
Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster is closing periodically this week.
Yesterday, it opened at 10:45 am and ran for the entire day. However, as of publication, it is not open yet today (9:30 am April 28).
What’s going on?
Since the ride is indoors, weather is not to blame. There could be some mechanical or technical issue that Disney is trying to resolve. Hopefully we will not see a full blown refurbishment on the horizon. We will keep you updated!
You may remember Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster closed for almost an entire week wayyy back at the beginning of 2021. Are we seeing a repeat? Let us know in the comments below and on Facebook.
