Are you thinking of visiting Walt Disney World during the month of May? You will definitely want to be sure to check and see if passes are available for the parks you want to visit first.
Park Passes
Park Passes are required for all guests to enter into all four theme parks at Walt Disney World. Though the system was first put in place to limit park capacity upon the reopening of the theme parks, Disney has made it pretty clear to all guests that this system is going to stay for quite some time.
May Park Passes
May is shaping up to be a pretty busy month for Walt Disney World. We have already seen park passes sold out for multiple dates during this month. One huge reason for such limited availability is the opening of Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind.
Looking at the Park Pass Availability calendar here, you can see that if you do not already have a trip planned, you can only travel on weekends or go to parks that you probably do not want to visit. In fact, the first day you can visit the Magic Kingdom is not until May 19th.
We have also seen limited or no availability at all during the month of May for things like dessert parties, dining reservations or Enchanted Extras like Disney’s Keys to the Kingdom tour which takes place in the Magic Kingdom.
Walt Disney World Park Pass Availability is extremely limited for the month of May
What gives? This month many schools are winding down, large school groups are expected to visit and travel in general has grown considerably in the last few months since more and more restrictions have been lifted. It is interesting to see that the entire Memorial Day weekend has complete availability for all four parks at this time.
Annual Passholders
One group does have a clear advantage over other guests and those are Annual Passholders. If you look at the availability calendar for Annual Passholders, you can see nearly every date is open for all parks.
Annual Passholders can also take advantage of an added benefit on select dates for EPCOT by receiving Free Park Passes.
Park Pass Availability has been known to refill occasionally, so if you do want to visit Walt Disney World, be sure to check the calendar frequently for days they might replenish!
Do you have a trip scheduled for the month of May? Are all of the parks you want to visit available to you or are you having trouble finding park passes? Tell us about it in the comments below or on our Facebook page.
