A virtual queue will be in place for shopping. Keep in mind that no standby shopping will be available so get there early to get in the virtual line. Guests must utilize My Disney Experience app for a chance at joining the virtual queue. Also, keep in mind that getting access to the virtual queue is not guaranteed.

The virtual queue will open as soon as Disney’s Hollywood Studios opens on May 4. To enter this theme park, make sure you have valid admission and theme park reservation. Staying onsite and getting early entry is a huge benefit here!

Reason for Virtual Queue

Have you tried buying limited Disney merchandise only to be disappointed because everything sold out so quickly? When I (Susan) used the virtual queue to buy a few of my favorite Disney World 50th merchandise items at the Big Top Circus, it made shopping so much more bearable.

However, the real reason for limiting items and needing a virtual queue is Disney resellers. Although there is usually a limit of 2 items for purchasers, reseller seem to find a way around this rule. Although Disney prohibits reselling Disney merchandise, there doesn’t seem to be any enforcement of this. Do you think it’s fair if everyone buys a limited amount, or would you like to see Disney crack down on resellers?

Are you excited about the limited Star Wars merchandise? Do you think using a virtual queue will give everyone a better chance of buying coveted items? Please share your thoughts with us on our Facebook Page.
