Good and evil battle it out in Sorcerer Mickey’s dream in this incredible open-air nighttime show. The musical includes 50 performers, stunning effects, incredible pyrotechnics, and dancing water. There are also so many familiar Disney characters from our favorite films to spot during the performance.

  • Beauty and the Beast
  • Sleeping Beauty
  • The Little Mermaid
  • Aladdin
  • The Lion King
  • Pocahontas
  • Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs

It has been a long two years without this show at Hollywood Studios. Ever since the parks reopened, many have wondered when it would return. Back in November, Disney shared we can enjoy the show once again sometime this year. Other than that, we have no other information.

This show will not be the same show it once was. Disney is in the process of updating the amphitheater and the show itself. They have drained, filled, and re-drained the water a million times it seems like. Disney shares:

“The iconic “Fantasmic!” at Disney’s Hollywood Studios will make its much-anticipated return later in 2022 with a new show sequence featuring Disney characters – Mulan, Elsa, Aladdin, Pocahontas and Moana – in heroic moments, as well as new technical enhancements.

Guests won’t want to miss this spectacle set on a canvas of water where the forces of good and evil battle it out in Mickey’s dream. The extravagant, open-air nighttime musical boasts more than 50 live performers, massive sets, stunning effects, rousing music and dazzling pyrotechnics.”

Still no word on when it may reopen. Many are suggesting sometime this summer, while others speculate its return this fall. I enjoy the nighttime shows on The Chinese Theater, but Hollywood Studios is severely lacking in a nighttime spectacle like Enchantment at Magic Kingdom and Harmonious at Epcot.

Either way, Disney took the closure as an opportunity to freshen up the show, and we are so excited to see it!
