More meet and greets will return to Hollywood Studios

Disney announced character meet and greets would return in phases. Let’s see who is returning next!

Non-distanced meet and greets return!

Characters are back to giving hugs and signing autographs! With physical distancing, mask wearing, and other screenings now completely gone, many feel that Disney World is “back to normal.” While we do still have a ways to go, the parks feel like they are full of life again.

You can find them in their designated locations or roaming around the streets of Magic Kingdom.

Not only are characters fully back in the parks, but you can also find them at restaurants! Character dining is completely back to the way it was pre-pandemic as well.

On this May the 4th, we have some exciting news about meet and greets.

Star Wars meet and greets return

Your favorite Star Wars characters will return to Disney World for non-distanced meet and greets. Star Wars Launch Bay closed in March 2020 with the rest of the parks, and when it reopened in July it was used as a relaxation station.

Once relaxation stations disappeared, the area remained mostly closed. I’ll be honest that area of the park is a little sad with Voyage of the Little Mermaid closed as well. Thankfully, Disney Jr Play & Dance and the character greets have brought Guests into that area.

Star Wars Launch Bay will reopen with character meets, but details are scarce at the moment.

In the past, Chewbacca, BB-8, Kylo Ren, and Darth Vader met with Guests in Star Wars Launch Bay. It is unclear if those same characters will reappear there. Chewbacca may leave Galaxy’s Edge, but right now he roams around.

Other Character Meets at Hollywood Studios

Mickey, Minnie, Olaf, Doc McStuffins, Vampirina, Fancy Nancy, and Pluto all meet at Hollywood Studios in their respective spots. Various characters also meet at Hollywood & Vine and in Galaxy’s Edge.

However, we are still waiting for Toy Story characters to return to their land! We sure do miss Buzz, Woody, and Jessie.
