Are you ready for some great news? We noticed a BIG change at many of Hollywood Studios’ biggest attractions!
Return to “Normal”
Each week it appears that more and more signs point to the return of “normal” in the Disney Parks. Last month a HUGE milestone was met on our pathway to “normal” when non-distanced character meet and greets returned. This was one of the biggest “reopenings” that many Disney Guests looked forward to.
Recently we have also shared that Disney entertainment would return to pre-pandemic levels with Finding Nemo, Tumble Monkeys at Festival of the Lion King, and Fantasmic. These are great signs that the magic of Disney is returning.
Recently, we noticed that another BIG change is seen at Disney’s Hollywood Studios that makes our favorite attractions seem even more magical.
Changes at Walt Disney World
Recently, as we visited Disney’s Hollywood Studios we noticed that something was missing at a few of the Park’s biggest attractions. In June 2021, Walt Disney World announced that they would remove social distancing markers throughout the parks.
This led to the removal of plexiglass in queues of many of the attractions throughout the Walt Disney World Theme Parks. Guests joyfully celebrated that they could once again enjoy attractions without the plexiglass dividers on attraction vehicles as well.
Plexiglass has also been removed at many of the retail locations as well. Many guests enjoyed this change, but over at Disney’s Hollywood Studios plexiglass was still in place in the queues for a few of the Park’s biggest attractions.
Something is Missing
As guests wait in the queues of Rise of the Resistance, Slinky Dog Dash, Star Tours, and Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway they are no longer surrounded by plexiglass. The plastic walls are now down. We have no idea what Disney plans to do with all of that extra plexiglass, but we are thankful that the parks continue to look more normal.
Recently, the plexiglass has been removed at many of the biggest attractions at Disney’s Hollywood Studios including the following: Slinky Dog Dash, Rise of the Resistance, Star Tours, and Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway.
The above photo shows the plexiglass dividers that have been removed at Rise of the Resistance. This seemed to distract from the overall theming of this attraction.
This photo shows that the long wall of plexiglass that was previously seen throughout Star Tours has recently been removed as well.
What do you think of the removal of the plexiglass? Why do you think it took so long for the plexiglass to come down at Disney’s Hollywood Studios? Share your thoughts with us on our Facebook Page.
