At a time when everything costs more, Disney offers a discount for select guests. Check out if you qualify, and how to receive this discount.
Disney Discounts
You find specific details about Disney World passes HERE and Disneyland passes HERE. However, most types on both coasts are sold out. If you’re lucky enough to hold an Annual Pass, Disney offers a variety of discounts and perks. In Walt Disney World, Disney Parks, Annual Passholders can reserve a limited number of Park Reservations.
Not only that, but when dining at most Disney World table service locations, Annual Passholders receive a 10% discount. Disney Visa cardholders receive this same discount. And those who love all the Disney merchandise, Annual Passholders receive a 20% discount!
When buying over $50 in merchandise, Disney Visa cardholders receive a 10% discount. Finally, Disney Vacation Club members enjoy a 20% merchandise discount and 10% discount on many Disney World table service. However, not all food and drinks are included in this discount.
Excluded Food and Drink Items
When dining at quick service locations, no discounts are applied for either Annual Passholders or Disney Visa cardholders. Also, certain non-Disney owned restaurants do not offer any discounts of any kind.
For example, I recently dined at France’s table service location, La Crêperie de Paris. I discovered they do not offer discounts.
How to Get Discounted Drinks
Did you know there is a way to receive a 20% discount when purchasing bottled water and other bottled drinks? There are 3 groups of people that qualify for discounted drinks in Disney World theme parks. These include Disney Visa cardholders (with restrictions) Disney Vacation Club members, and Annual Passholders.
To receive 20% off as an Annual Passholder/Disney Vacation Club member or 10% off as a Disney Visa cardholder (with a $50 purchase or more), simply go to a merchandise location. When cast members ring up the drink, make sure to tell them which of these groups you belong in. Then, you’ll receive your “pixie dust” discount.
More Tips
Snack and popcorn carts are not included in any type of discount. You must buy drinks at a location that also sells merchandise. This also holds true at Disney World Resorts. While you won’t receive any money off at quick service spots, buy your bottled drink at the store instead and save money!
What do you think of this “secret” discount? Is it worth it to save money purchasing drinks at stores rather than carts and quick service locations? Please share your thoughts with us on our Facebook Page.
