Although Disney World has not provided a specific return date, we are closer than ever to riding around in Minnie Vans again! See the latest update here.
Minnie Vans
Disney halted its paid rideshare service when the parks reopened last July. These stylish, yet overpriced to many, polka dot vans moved Guests around property and back and forth to the Orlando International Airport.
However, with many of the health and safety protocols essentially nonexistent, many began to wonder when this service may resume.
How does one get a Minnie Van? Disney partnered with Lyft so you have the option to choose one in the app. They are desirable due to the fact that they are driven by Cast Members and includes two child seats if needed.
Disney shared back in March that Minnie Vans are returning! This confirmed all of our past speculations. According to their TikTok video, the service will return this summer (2022). However, no further date is provided.
Spotted at Disney World
Now that summer 2022 is just around the corner, Disney is in full preparation for the Minnie Vans to return. This morning, May 23, Kenny the Pirate spotted the Minnie Vans at Disney’s Boardwalk Resort!
It definitely appears Disney is shooting some promotional photographs. The SUVs are parked right in front of the Boardwalk Resort hotel entrance. Perhaps we will see these in a Disney World blog post soon with a return date?
I (Monica) have never been in a Minnie Van, but I think it would be fun to ride in one!
Many Guests like to use them for drop off service at the Magic Kingdom. Any non-Disney transportation has to park at the Transportation and Ticket Center, and Guests must take the monorail over to Magic Kingdom. Like Disney buses, however, Minnie Vans drop Guests off right by the security entrance!
Are you excited for the return of Minnie Vans, or do you think they are too expensive? Will you be catching a ride when they return this summer? Let us know in the comments below and on Facebook.
