Guests aboard Pirates of the Caribbean recently received a different experience than expected. Find out all of the details from this unexpected voyage.
Pirates of the Caribbean
Set sail on a swashbuckling voyage to a long-forgotten time and place when pirates and privateers ruled the seas.
Board a weathered barge for a treacherous voyage to the 17th century, when rowdy rogues and ruthless rapscallions ransacked Caribbean seaport towns. Sing along as pirates serenade you with their anthem, “Yo Ho, Yo Ho (A Pirate’s Life for Me).”
Sail past haunted Dead Man’s Cove. Navigate cannon fire between a Caribbean fort and a striking 12-gun galleon. Behold boisterous buccaneers drunk on the spoils of plunderin’ as flames engulf a seaside town.
Be sure to keep a spry eye out for Captain Jack Sparrow, from The Pirates of the Caribbean movies. Ye beware, mateys: Dead men tell no tales! (from the Disney website).
Recently an incident occurred and allowed Guests to practice their parkour skills aboard the attraction.
Unexpected Voyage
A few days ago, as Guests were preparing to enjoy a swashbuckling voyage on the Pirates of the Caribbean, they instead experienced an unexpected ride. A Guest, @itsnotwolverine, shared his experience aboard Pirates of the Caribbean.
On this particular occasion, Pirates of the Caribbean malfunctioned and needed to be evacuated. In fact, local firefighters were also called to the scene to help Cast Members manage the evacuation process. Usually when a water ride needs to be evacuated, Cast Members will wade in the water and pull the boats to a safe location where Guests can then get off.
However, that did not happen in this video. Instead, Guests had to get up and basically hop from one boat to the next before getting off the ride! While this could definitely seem like an exciting adventure, it would not be so for Guests who need extra assistance or are unable to walk.
The creator shares that someone in their boat was unable to walk, but they did not know how firefighters and Cast Members got them off.
See the video below:
The attraction has since reopened. We here at Kenny the Pirate have a fondness for Pirates of the Caribbean. We are glad that Guests at the Magic Kingdom can enjoy this attraction once again.
