Select Disney Resort Guests now have this HUGE Advantage for Cosmic Rewind

Cosmic Rewind Virtual Queues

There are two ways Disney will load Guests onto the ride: virtual queue and Individual Lightning Lane Selections. The free way to ride Cosmic Rewind is through the virtual queue. The virtual queue is a lottery-type system that gives you a boarding group. Be sure to check out this detailed guide to obtain a boarding group HERE.

The first virtual queue opens at 7:00 am for Disney Resort Guests. If you do not succeed right at 7:00 am, be sure to check out this tip to still gain a boarding group HERE. Later in the day, guests can also try to join a virtual queue at 1:00 pm. Additionally, if you are park hopping to Epcot at 2:00 pm, you can try to join if it is still open.

There is a 3rd virtual queue time available to select Disney Resort guests who are utilizing the Extended Evening Hours as well.

Extended Evening Hours

Extended Evening Hours are typically offered for EPCOT on Mondays and at Magic Kingdom on Wednesdays. We have seen a few changes to this, but for months this has been the typical days these Extended Evening Hours are offered.

For Extended Evening Hours, Deluxe Resort Guests can try to join a 3rd Virtual Queue for Cosmic Rewind at 6:00 pm.

These Extended Evening Hours are available for guests staying at Deluxe Disney Resorts. You can see a full listing of qualifying resorts HERE. The advantage for guests staying at these resorts is that they have a 3rd virtual queue opportunity to enjoy Cosmic Rewind. At 6:00 pm, guests approved for Extended Evening Hours may try to join the virtual queue.

Our Experience with this new Virtual Queue Time

Today, select guests were able to join this new virtual queue time for Extended Evening Hours. At 5:00 pm, guests are able to confirm their party prior to the virtual queue time.

This screen appears to allow guests to “Confirm Your Party”.

Once you click to “Confirm Your Party”, you are given some helpful tips on how to secure your virtual queue. The important next step is, “At 6:00 pm, pull-to-refresh or tap the ‘Refresh’ button. Then, tap the ‘Join Queue’ button as soon as it appears.”

After a bit of frustration with the My Disney Experience this morning, we were unable to join a virtual queue. This evening, we had excellent success. We were able to obtain a Boarding Group for our entire party.

This is a HUGE benefit for guests staying at Deluxe Disney Resorts.
