Mobile checkout is now available at a new Disney World location. Do you prefer to use this or would you rather use traditional checkout?
Mobile Checkout
Last year, Disney started testing mobile checkout through their mobile apps. This happened at both Disneyland and Disney World.
This is a very easy process! In your My Disney Experience app, select the “Shop in Store” by selecting the large + on the bottom of the screen.
From there, select your store. You will then scan items as you add them to your bag. Once you’re done shopping, tap “check out” to pay on your phone. Be sure to show your QR code to a Cast Member at the designated area near the exit. They will place your items in a bag for you.
Worried if any of your eligible discounts will be applied? Don’t worry they will be! If you are shopping with an eligible Annual Pass, Magic Key, or Disney Vacation Club be sure they are linked to your Disney account. They will be applied automatically.
Participating Stores
Right now, the following stores offer mobile checkout:
- Emporium in Magic Kingdom
- Creations Shop in EPCOT
- Mickey’s of Hollywood in Disney’s Hollywood Studios
- Discovery Trading Company in Disney’s Animal Kingdom
- Island Mercantile in Disney’s Animal Kingdom
- World of Disney at Disney Springs
I (Monica) use mobile checkout as much as I can. Not only does it save me time because registers usually have longer waits, but I also don’t have to pull out my annual pass and payment.
New location
Treasures of Xandar has also been added to mobile checkout at Epcot. The new Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind attraction opened at the end of May, and with it, Treasures of Xandar also opened!
This store sells all kinds of things for Marvel lovers! Attraction specific items as well as general Marvel merchandise can be found here. I am so glad to see more of Marvel merchandise at Disney World.
You can either open your MDE app and follow the steps as above, or you can scan the QR code with your phone camera and follow the steps there.
Do you use mobile checkout? Will you use it at Treasures of Xandar on your next trip? Let us know in the comments below and on Facebook.
