Scooch over, red pandas and chipmunks, a new fuzzy critter is joining the ranks of Disney animals! Disney has announced a new animated series featuring a hamster.
Hamster & Gretel
A new animated series is coming to the Disney family. Hamster & Gretel is coming to us from Dan Povenmire, the co-creator of fan-favorite, Emmy Award-winning animated series Phineas and Ferb. This is great news for fans of Disney animated comedy.
Dan Povenmire has confirmed that Hamster & Gretel takes place in the same world as Phineas and Ferb. However, the two do not exist in the same town.
The idea behind the show is that 16-year-old Kevin and his little sister Gretel and their pet hamster experience car trouble one day. While they are checking on their vehicle, an alien ship visits and bestows superpowers upon two of the passengers.
Voice Actors
Meli Povenmire, Dan Povenmire’s daughter, is breaking onto the scene as Gretel. The series will also star Michael Cimino as Gretel’s older brother, Kevin.
Additionally, Beck Bennett, who you may know as Launchpad from Ducktales, will provide the voice for Gretel’s pet hamster, Hamster. Their parents will be played by Carolina Ravassa and Matt Jones.
When and Where to Watch
This fun new series from Disney Branded TV will launch on Disney Chanel! And, it is coming very soon.
So far, Disney has only revealed that it will air Summer of 2022. However, we here at the Kenny the Pirate Writing Team will keep you up to date as details develop. It should be very, very soon as summer is upon us!
