You may notice something odd, but there is no need to panic.
Disney’s Extended Evening Hours
With Extra Magic Hours gone, Disney introduce morning and evening hours for onsite Guests. Early Theme Park Entry allows any guest staying onsite to visit any theme park 30 minutes before officially opening for the day.
Extended Evening Hours are only for deluxe and deluxe villa Guests. It also includes people staying at Shades of Green and the Swan/Dolphin hotels. On select nights (usually Monday for Epcot and Wednesday for Magic Kingdom), those staying at select resorts can enjoy attractions for 2 hours after official park closing.
When Disney announced that evening hours would only be for Guests staying in the most expensive rooms, many were understandably upset for obvious reasons. Disney took away a benefit that used to be for everyone. Many simply cannot afford to stay at deluxe resorts (although there are ways to get around that).
I absolutely love the nighttime hours! See how my evening went at Magic Kingdom HERE. I also had the chance to do the only and only Hollywood Studios night! It was so much fun.
Schedule Mix Up
Disney’s website has an entire page dedicated to Extended Evening Hours. You can view which resorts are eligible, what attractions are available, and the schedule.
The schedule goes all the way through the end of August 2022, with nights following the Monday/Wednesday pattern. However, you will notice August 22 and August 24 are not on the schedule. This could be very alarming if you are visiting these dates and hope to enjoy the parks later at night.
However, do not panic! If you take a look at Disney’s calendar and switch to “day view” you will see Epcot and Magic Kingdom both have their evening hours listed. On Monday, August 22 deluxe Guests can experience Epcot from 9:00 to 11:00 pm. Do not forget you have the opportunity to ride Guardians of the Galaxy!
On Wednesday, August 24, Magic Kingdom is open from 10:00 pm to 12:00 am for deluxe Guests. These hours could shift if Disney extends normal operating hours.
It’s probably a simple error on the webpage that just needs updated. However, we will keep watch on the schedule and see if the benefit disappears there, too. Be sure to subscribe to the blog so you’re the first to know!
