We see a new clue that may indicate Disney appears to be moving forward with half day park passes.
Rumored Changes
Currently, Annual Passholders have a finite number of park passes that they can secure. At this time each Annual Passholder tier has a select number of park passes that they can reserve at a time:
- Disney Incredi-Pass: Up to 5 reservations at a time
- Disney Sorcerer Pass: Up to 5 reservations at a time
- Disney Pirate Pass: Up to 4 reservations at a time
- Disney Pixie Dust Pass: Up to 3 reservations at a time
Unfortunately, it appears that Park Reservations are here to stay for quite some time. The good news is that a new rumor may add a bit more flexibility to the current Park Reservation system.
You may remember we recently shared that Disney is rumored to offer a “Half-Day Reservation” to Annual Passholders. These “Half-Day Reservations” would be available in the morning at park opening, at noon, and then also in the evening around 5:00 pm.
It’s our understanding you would not have to leave the park, but the above times are simply entry times.
New Clue
While we cannot say for certain, it does appear that Disney is moving forward with these half day passes. When you go to make a new park pass, new verbiage on the Disney World website says “Day Visit.” Previously it simply said “Select a Park.” See the screenshot below:
When/if Disney does officially announce this change, then you would be able to select a time from the available options.
Disney has not shared any insight on this rumor, so let’s remember this is a rumor still and nothing is set in stone. Also remember that at this time, Disney has not made any changes for theme park ticket holders and resort hotel guests.
This change is only rumored to take place for Annual Passholders. It would add a bit more flexibility for sold out park days so Passholders have more access to the parks.
What do you think of this news? Do you like having “timed” passes, or do you think it’s too much of a hassle?
