Looking for a good value at the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival this year? Here is a well-priced dish that is picky eater approved.
Epcot International Food & Wine Festival
This year’s Epcot International Food and Wine Festival has arrived! Festivities kicked off on July 14, 2022, and it runs through November 15, 2022. We here at the Kenny the Pirate writing crew are eating our way around the Global Marketplaces to help you, dear readers, make informed choices before putting your precious Disney dollars to work.
Brazil
If you are looking for some good eats, you will want to head to Brazil. The Global Marketplace is located between France and Morocco as you make your way around World Showcase.
This year, Brazil’s menu sports a delicious duo. It includes Feijoada and Pão de Queijo: Brazilian Cheese Bread.
Brazillian Cheese Bread
The Pão de Queijo, also known as Brazilian Cheese Bread is a safe bet if you are looking for delicious budget bites. The Brazillian Cheese Bread typically has mass appeal among Guests. Each plate comes with two pieces of this yummy goodness. At $4.75, it is one of the festival’s best values, especially since it is sharable.
Essentially it is a pillowy roll baked with Brazillian cheese in its center. It makes for an enjoyable snack! In fact, the flavor is so nice, that it might be a safe bet for even the pickiest members of your travel party. When I (Katie) visited Food & Wine, one of my friends brought her son along. He, like many kids, is not an adventurous eater and prefers to stick with foods like pizza, Cheetos, and cake pops.
However, even this persnickety eater liked the Brazillian cheese bread. In fact, he liked it so much that he wanted to have it again the next day.
That said, this dish is a great entry point to dining at Global Marketplaces for children and picky eaters alike. With cheese and bread, where could you possibly go wrong? For more on helping kids to enjoy Epcot festivals from our resident mom of four, click here.
The texture is where some people may not enjoy this dish. The bread has a bit of a pillowy, marshmallow-like consistency. So, if that texture is tough for you or a member of your travel party, you may want to skip this one.
Bonus!
If you are excited to eat your way through Emile’s Fromage Montage, there is more good news. This dish is on the list of cheese dishes that will earn you a stamp.
Additionally, it is not a particularly unique dish. I have found similar rolls in the freezer section of my local Costco. However, this is excellent news if you love the Epcot version and want to recreate the flavors at home.
