You have the best touring plans in place, and you are at the park for a rope drop only to discover that your top attractions are closed. Disney World rides close all the time. Severe weather, mechanical or technical malfunctions, and Guests doing the wrong thing can all shut an attraction down.

Oftentimes, the ride reopens when the weather passes or the issue gets fixed. However, sometimes it can also lead to a multi-day closure. Ride closures not only affect that attraction but create a ripple effect as well. Higher wait times can be seen at other park attractions as guests scramble to revamp their touring plans.

This morning guests visiting Disney’s Animal Kingdom experienced a rough opening. KtP writer Susan is in the park and received a push notification from Sarah Riles, Vice President of Disney’s Animal Kingdom, “Pardon the Inconvenience: On behalf of the entire team at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, I’d like to apologize that Navi River Journey and Flight of Passage are currently unavailable.

The notification goes on to encourage guests that they hope to reopen these attractions, but for the time being, enjoy many of the other great attractions. The only problem is that Disney’s Animal Kingdom does not offer a huge lineup of other attractions.

Currently, the entire Land of Pandora is closed to guests as Cast Members offer reassurance that they will try to reopen attractions as soon as possible.

Take a look at the current wait times are quite staggering with a 90-minute wait for Kilimanjaro Safaris. This is not the start that many guests were expecting at Disney’s Animal Kingdom today. We hope that the Land of Pandora may reopen both attractions very soon.
