It is eerily quiet with no music on your favorite Disney World attractions. See the creepy video we took on this particular Magic Kingdom ride.
Ride Malfunctions
With all of the wonderful technology incorporated in Disney World attractions, you are sure to have a magical time. From music and special effects to MagicBand+ interactions, Disney is working hard to create an immersive experience.
On the flip side of that, however, ride malfunctions are bound to happen. A wide variety of situations can occur. An attraction may completely stop and be evacuated. Certain elements may be omitted from the ride experience.
That’s exactly what happened to me this past week at Magic Kingdom!
Journey of the Little Mermaid
Under the Sea ~ Journey of the Little Mermaid is an omnimover attraction in Magic Kingdom. Board a clamshell and become part of Ariel’s world as you experience scenes from the classic animated film.
One of the best parts of the attraction, in my opinion, is the music. I grew up with this movie and love singing the songs. You will hear tunes from the movie like “Part of Your World”, “Under the Sea”, and “Kiss the Girl.”
Unfortunately, the music was not playing in one of the scenes, and it was quite creepy.
Under the Sea on Mute
When I rode through this scene of the attraction, all of the animatronics were still moving and I could hear some talking from other scenes of the attraction. However, the iconic “Under the Sea” song was missing!
It was quite creepy riding through this scene and seeing all of the moving animatronics but not hearing the accompanying music. This went on for almost the entire scene. What did provide some laughs was another Guest singing a few parts of the song for us!
The music played when I rode into the following scenes. I am unsure how long that particular scene had no music. See the video below:
