Disney sends a new email to guests who won’t receive their MagicBand+ now, but there’s a twist

Have you recently ordered a MagicBand+ only to be frustrated over not receiving it in time? Today, Disney addresses this in an email.

Disney’s newest MagicBand, MagicBand+, is the newest piece of interactive technology that will take your trip to Disney World to the next level. This band lights up and even vibrates depending on where you are located in the Parks.

Special features display on the band when you are around a 50th statue or during the fireworks. Even tapping into to the parks and your favorite attractions are more magical with this new MagicBand+.

Recent Delay

If you have a trip coming up soon, you may be wondering when your MagicBand+ ordered through My Disney Experience will arrive. KtP crew members reported disappointment over not getting them in time for their trip too. Disney was not prepared for the amount of people ordering these special bands. Because of this, they are delayed in getting them to their guests on time.

Update on Orders

This afternoon, guests, including me (Susan) received a mixed email from Disney Parks concerning our MagicBand+ purchase. Therefore, Disney states that due to overwhelming popularity, they are unable to fulfill your order in time for your arrival at Disney World Resort.

The Good News

But there is a bright side to not getting them on time. First, Disney is giving a full refund for these orders. Next, guests will still receive their MagicBand+ ordered through My Disney Experience at a later date for free. Note that Disney doesn’t state when they will arrive.

Finally, Disney is sending a $50 digital Disney gift card that can be used at any Disney retail location! They offer their “sincere apologies.”

Guests will receive their MagicBand+ free as well as a $50 Disney gift card.

Thoughts

If you’re disappointed about not getting your MagicBand+ on time, as of now, there is a selection available on shopDisney as well as Disney Parks. The gift card is a great incentive to replace it! Since I only ordered one MagicBand+, I’m not sure if guests ordering more than one will receive a larger credit.

Even though Disney is making the best of a bad situation, they have been promoting these new bands and should have expected huge orders.

Does this affect an upcoming trip? Do you think Disney should have been prepared for orders? Please let us know in the comments below and on Facebook.
