One of the pavilions in EPCOT is partially closed. You may want to be aware of this if you are at EPCOT or have plans to visit.

Refurbishments

Nobody really likes to hear that their favorite attraction will be under refurbishment during their trip. Attractions, buildings, and even sidewalks need to be maintained. Refurbishments help the parks run smoothly. Almost every trip you take, you are bound to run into some type of refurbishment.

As the Disney Parks remain open year-round, refurbishments are a part of life at Disney theme parks around the world. It’s not uncommon for at least one attraction or location to be closed at any given time.

Refurbishments can happen anywhere in Walt Disney World from attractions, shows, Main Street U.S.A. and even pools and stores. Whatever the reason, it is all part of keeping the parks up to date and running for guests to enjoy.

The Mitsukoshi Department Store and Kiosk can be found at EPCOT’s Japan pavilion. To read all about the Japan pavilion, take a look at Susan’s post HERE. This pavilion is one of my (Maggie) personal favorites. You can find so many authentic souvenirs and see some wonderful entertainment here!

EPCOT’s Mitsukoshi Kiosk in the Japan pavilion is temporarily closed.

If you are visiting the Japan pavilion, you might notice that it is currently undergoing a partial closure. Check out some of the pictures below.

Parts of the store are now blocked off with large black scrims.

If you look at Disney’s website, it has the Mitsukoshi Kiosk listed as being temporarily unavailable.

No reason for the partial closure has been given at this time, but it is most likely due to some sort of refurbishment. We will keep you updated as soon as we hear more!
