Do you like the virtual queue system used at Walt Disney World? Some guests were able to give their thoughts about it today in a recent survey. Take a look to see what it was asking guests.
Virtual Queues
Virtual queues are nothing new if you have visited Walt Disney World within the past few years. Walt Disney World has used virtual queues for their most popular and newest attractions, like Rise of the Resistance, Remi’s Ratatouille Adventure, and most recently, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind.
The system has proved to be successful for having as many guests experience attractions throughout the day, but it does pose frustration when guests are unable to receive a boarding group or the system experiences technical difficulties. Nevertheless, the system appears to be a tool that will be here to stay for quite some time.
Sometimes guests even see them for seeing Santa Claus during the holidays or Annual Passholders have to use it to pick up magnets.
Guests Survey
Disney regularly sends out surveys to guests asking for feedback regarding experiences in the park. Recently, we saw a survey regarding Disney Genie+.
Today, Disney sent a survey to guests in My Disney Experience regarding Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. The first question asked, “Did you experience Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind during your visit to EPCOT on August 17th?” It then goes on to give several choices of how they might have experienced the attraction, whether it was a Lightning Lane, virtual queue, or if they simply did not experience or could not.
It then goes on to ask which is your preference for riding Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. Questions here basically asked whether you preferred using the virtual queue system or if you would rather wait 2+ hours in line.
The third question asks, “Which of the following best describes your experience while waiting in line to ride Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind?” These questions refer to issues that might happen while you are waiting, such as operation of the attraction stopping. In other words, did you know operation stopped, but continued to wait anyway? Or did you just leave?
Lightning Lane
The next question asks, “If Lightning Lane was either fully booked or unavailable, would you still choose to ride Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind?” If Lightning Lane is either fully booked or unavailable the only other option would be to use the virtual queue.
Finally, the survey asks, “Which of the following best describes your experience riding Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind?” Did you ride the attraction without any issues? Did you ride it, but some elements were not working? Was the ride interrupted or did you have to evacuate?
Could changes be coming?
Disney is always trying to improve the overall guest experience and often times, their surveys mean that possible changes could be seen or are on the way in the parks and resorts. Could we be seeing the virtual queue system be removed from Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind in the near future? It has been open for nearly three months now with the virtual queue system in place.
We know from previous attractions like Rise of the Resistance and Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure that Disney may choose to no longer use the system. Perhaps we could see it being removed shortly and see the system being used for the opening of TRON?
Did you receive a guest survey from Disney relating to the virtual queue system? What are your thoughts on the system? Do you like it or is it too much pressure for trying to get onto an attraction? Tell us about it in the comments below or on our Facebook page.
